- Belt-Driven: Using a rubber belt makes the Belsize bike grease-free with practically zero maintenance. A rubber belt will not get caught on your child’s pants or shoelace and will not stretch or slip off the gears like a greasy metal chain.
- Easy to Control: Instead of wrestling with a heavy bike, this bike weighs a feather-light 12.57 pounds to reduce fatigue and make it easier to ride uphill. Your kid will be able to ride all day long!
- High Quality Parts: Belsize bikes use well-known parts like a Continental rubber belt, TEKTRO hand brakes, and CST 16-inch inflatable tires. Quality parts you can trust without inflated prices.
- Incredibly Safe: Front and rear V-pull hand brakes are easy to learn and safer than pedal/coaster brakes that may cause skidding or sudden stops of momentum when riding.
- Quick Assembly: Belsize bikes are 95% assembled when they arrive. All you have to do is attach the handlebars, front tire, adjustable seat, pedals, and a few other small parts before your kid will be ready to ride.

Common Questions and Answers
- What are the advantages of a belt drive compared to a chain drive?
Belt drives are super low maintenance, you don’t have to worry about lubing them, and they won’t rust or fall off during pedaling. It’s much quieter and smoother, and most importantly, the belt-driven bike is so light that it won’t be burdensome for your little ones.
- Why BELSIZE costs more than other common kids bikes?
Few kid's bikes have a belt drive since the parts for belt-driven bikes cost more: the belt, compatible frame, sprocket and hub. All BELSIZE bikes adopt the belt drive system and are built with ultra-lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum alloys frame and high-quality branded parts. So BELSIZE bikes can maintain good condition even after years of use and can easily be passed down to younger siblings. If you consider this, the costs are much closer.
- Can I add training wheels to the bikes?
Generally, we don’t recommend using training wheels. As mentioned in our customer reviews, the bike is very light. In fact, it weighs almost the same as an adult Persian tabby cat and can easily be lifted up by a 4-year-old child. That means children can easily control the bike and learn to ride by themselves faster. In addition, BELSIZE bikes use freewheels and hand brakes instead of coaster brakes. So no worries about dangerous sudden stops when children occasionally backpedal as they are learning to ride. But if you MUST have training wheels, you can try with Wald 10252, which is found compatible by some customers. But it’s not made by us and just for your information.
- Is it easy to upgrade the bike?
Belsize bikes use standard road bike component interfaces so it makes upgrading convenient. But we don’t recommend a random and major upgrade, as all selling models of Belsize bikes were tested for safety and are compliant with CPSC. We cannot make sure your safety after major modifications of current bike models. Without professional knowledge and upgrading capabilities, upgrading the bike on your own is not encouraged. However, if you only need to heighten or replace the handlebars, change pedals or make other minor adjustments, you can choose the specified accessories to carry on.
